2024/25 NAIT fees

The following fees are mandatory non-instructional fees which follow regulations of the Post-Secondary Learning Act of Alberta. Tuition and fees are approved by NAIT’s Board of Governors and may change without notice.

Descriptions of non-instructional fees

Students are unable to opt out of the following mandatory non-instructional fees (MNIFs):

  • Recreation and athletic fee: provides students with access to NAIT’s recreation and fitness facilities, classes and activities. For credit students, the fee is applicable to students enrolled in 9+ credits on-campus classes or classes with on-campus components.
    • Exclusions: students enrolled exclusively in online classes or enrolled in less than 9 on-campus credits.
  • OneCard support fee: supports the administration of the one AT NAIT card and U-pass
  • Student technology fee: introduced in 2023/24, this fee supports ongoing and emerging student technology needs, including software, infrastructure and maintenance, technical support, makerspaces and loanable technology, etc.

*Note: The OneCard support fee and student technology fee are applicable to both part-time and full-time learners.

NAIT Students' Association (NAITSA)

NAITSA provides a variety of services and benefits for current credit and apprenticeship students. For the most up to date fee information, please visit the NAITSA website.

*Apprenticeship students do not qualify.

Apprenticeship fees

Alberta’s Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) program has materials and instructional fees. To review these mandatory fees outlined by the AIT program, please refer to AIT fees.

Optional Fees


If you’re a student at NAIT, you have various parking permit options, depending on where and when your classes are. Get full details including rates and where to purchase parking permits as well as other options available to students including Pogo carshare and transit.

To qualify for a parking permit, students must:

  • be currently enrolled in daytime classes during the Fall or Winter semester

  • have a current NAIT student ID number
