Yes. In order to attend Convocation in 2023, students will need to complete graduation requirements or complete their technical apprenticeship education before June 2, 2023, and apply to attend by May 19, 2023. Students will be notified whether they’ve met requirements and are approved to attend Convocation at the end of May. For select programs with later end dates, but before June 2, 2023, you will be notified by mid-June.
Tickets will be released in late May/early June when students have been notified if they’ve met graduation requirements and are eligible to attend Convocation. You do not need a ticket for yourself to attend. Graduates can order up to 4 guest tickets for their ceremony.
Extra tickets may be released depending on the number graduates in attendance. If there are extra tickets available, they will be released one week before the ceremony.
Yes, the ceremonies will be live-streamed. Guests who are unable to attend in person can watch the ceremonies in real time.
When walking across the stage, students receive a parchment holder and congratulatory letter. Your parchment will be mailed to you 6-8 weeks following the end of your final term.
Convocation email invites will be sent out in early February. If you expected to meet graduation requirements before June 2, 2023, and you haven’t been invited to apply to attend Convocation, please contact your program to discuss your academic progress. Students in the JR Shaw School of Business should contact the Business Information Centre. If, after that discussion, you’re on track to graduate, please apply early to attend Convocation.
