Get Ready to Graduate

The time has finally arrived. Get ready to graduate with our helpful tips and checklists.

Graduating at NAIT

Congratulations, your hard work has paid off and graduation is on the horizon!

At NAIT, you don't need to apply to graduate. Students automatically qualify for graduation by completing their program requirements with a GPA of 2.0. Check to see if you're on track to meet or have already met your graduation requirements.

The differences between graduation and Convocation

  • Graduation is the official recognition that you've completed all program requirements and earned your parchment confirming your NAIT credential.

  • Convocation is the celebration of your accomplishment, where you'll walk the stage with your classmates.

*Please note this information applies to degree, diploma and certificate students who will be receiving a NAIT credential. Apprenticeship students will need to refer to AIT for information on receiving their journeyperson certification.

Getting your parchment

For degree, diploma and certificate graduates, your parchment will be mailed to you 6-8 weeks following the end of your final term. Make sure your mailing address is up to date in your profile on MyNAIT.

At Convocation, you will receive a parchment holder and congratulatory letter. Your official parchment confirming your NAIT credential will be sent by mail.

Graduation and Convocation checklists

There are some key steps you’ll need to take to graduate from NAIT and attend Convocation.

Graduation checklist
for degree, diploma and certificate students

Check your Academic Progress Report in MyNAIT (select Open Self Service, then Academic Progress Report) regularly to make sure you’re on track to meet all program requirements.

Monitor your GPA in your Academic Progress Report to make sure you meet the minimum 2.0 GPA to qualify for graduation.

Review your contact information in MyNAIT so NAIT can send your parchment to the correct address once you finish your program.

You may order transcripts at any time through MyCreds, and select whether you want the transcript immediately or if you want the transcript to be printed after final grades are posted. When requesting final transcripts, allow for processing time after completing your program.

For international students, your official Completion of Studies letter will be available on MyNAIT upon completion of your program if you are eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).
