Graduating at NAIT

Congratulations, your hard work has paid off and graduation is on the horizon!

As you near the end of your program, you’ll need to apply for graduation in MyNAIT once applications open. This is a NEW and mandatory requirement for Fall 2026 graduates and beyond.  

Be sure to submit your application to graduate before the application deadline. You can apply during your final term, even before your final grades are posted.

The differences between graduation and Convocation

  • Graduation is the official recognition that you've completed all program requirements and earned your parchment confirming your NAIT credential. You must now apply to graduate through MyNAIT in order to receive your credential. View application to graduate deadlines.
  • Convocation is the celebration of your accomplishment, where you'll walk the stage with your classmates. You need to RSVP to attend Convocation. 

*Please note this information applies to degree, diploma and certificate students who will be receiving a NAIT credential. Apprenticeship students will need to refer to AIT for information on receiving their journeyperson certification.

Getting your parchment

Once you are approved to graduate, your degree, diploma or certificate parchment will be mailed to you approximately 6-8 weeks following the end of your final term. Make sure your mailing address is correct in your application to graduate.  

At Convocation, you will receive a parchment holder and congratulatory letter. Your official parchment confirming your NAIT credential will be sent by mail.

Graduation and Convocation checklists

There are some key steps you’ll need to take to graduate from NAIT and attend Convocation.

Check your Academic Progress Report in MyNAIT (select Open Self Service, then Academic Progress Report) regularly to make sure you’re on track to meet all program requirements.

Monitor your GPA in your Academic Progress Report to make sure you meet the minimum 2.0 GPA to qualify for graduation.

*NEW* Apply to graduate in MyNAIT, once the application opens. This is a mandatory requirement to receive your credential and have your parchment mailed. 

You may order transcripts at any time through MyCreds, and select whether you want the transcript immediately or if you want the transcript to be printed after final grades are posted. When requesting final transcripts, allow for processing time after completing your program.

For international students, your official Completion of Studies letter will be available on MyNAIT upon completion of your program if you are eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

RSVP for Convocation 2027 is not available yet. Stay tuned for dates and details about Convocation 2027!

Order your Grad Gown Souvenir Package
All grads and apprenticeship completers attending Convocation are required to purchase a graduation gown. Gown packages will be available closer to ceremony dates.

Book your graduation photos
You can schedule a photo session in studio or on site in June.

Get tickets for your guests
Typically, guest tickets are released at the end of May. For select programs with later end dates,  your guest tickets will be released in mid-June.
