Review the required Documents for International Applicants
When submitting transcripts from outside Canada, you have 2 options:
1. Submit your official documents to NAIT
If your transcripts are not in English, you will need to have them translated for assessment. NAIT requires a literal, word-for-word translation completed by a certified translator accompanied by official copies of your original language transcripts. NAIT does not provide translation services on campus.
In Canada, certified translators must be recognized by one of the following organizations:
Effective March 1, 2019, NAIT will no longer accept documents translated by EISA
Applicants who are having their translations done outside of Canada are advised to review the certified translator requirements in that country to ensure that the translator they choose meets the requirements specified by NAIT.
NAIT will only accept translations that were produced by a certified translator whose certification can be confirmed by a stamp or membership number of a professional translation association. Should the accuracy of the translation appear suspect, NAIT reserves the right to request a retranslation.
Translated documents must be submitted to NAIT for assessment after you have completed your application through ApplyAlberta. Please see the Before You Apply page for more information.
Document assessments at NAIT cost $75CAD and are non-refundable. This assessment fee needs to be paid before the deadline indicated on your MyNAIT Portal. In most cases, the assessment should be completed within 30 days from the date that you make this payment. Failure to pay by the deadline will result in cancellation of your application.
2. Submit an official assessment
NAIT will accept the following document assessments in lieu of transcripts:
WES or ECE assessments may be submitted to NAIT electronically through the provider.
Note: other than the assessments services noted above, no other assessment services will be accepted.
If you are applying for conditional acceptance, you may upload unofficial transcripts to your MyNAIT portal for initial review. You will be required to submit identical official transcripts within 60-days, or by the application deadline, whichever date comes first, to secure full acceptance.
