Our Services

We provide the following services at all NAIT campuses.

Lost and Found

We accept lost and found articles at our Main Campus office in D104. If you are at Patricia, Souch or Spruce Grove campus, please turn in found items to any peace officer on duty from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Lost and found items are recorded, tagged and placed in secure storage. We maintain a comprehensive record of all personal items turned in. Identifiable NAIT property will be returned to the appropriate department as soon as possible.

Disposal policy

Lost and found items are kept for 30 days. When collecting or inquiring about lost items, please bring your ID and describe the item you are looking for and when you last saw it. Clothing items are kept until the end of the workday and then discarded for sanitary reasons. Protective Services does not accept food, food containers, water bottles or cups.

Other lost and found locations

Not all items are turned over to Protective Services. Some areas operate their own lost and found. Check first with Protective Services if you have lost an item, and we can direct you to another location if necessary.

Safe Walk Program

The Safe Walk Program provides a safe and reliable service for students and staff who do not feel comfortable walking alone. This service is free of charge and is available on Main Campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Smoke-free Campus

We strive to provide a healthy and safe community for students, staff, contractors, visitors and members of the public. We are pleased to offer a smoke-free learning and work environment.

Our Smoke-Free Campus policy prohibits smoking, e-cigarettes, chewing tobacco and similar products on all NAIT-owned and leased facilities, on NAIT grounds and in NAIT vehicles, as well as in all vehicles on NAIT property.

If you smoke, designated smoking areas are located at the perimeter of campus. These are typically at least 10 metres away from doorways, windows and air intakes and are clearly marked with a cigarette disposal container.

Smoke-free exceptions

Certain spiritual, ceremonial and religious activities – such as pipe ceremonies and smudges – may be exempt from the restrictions on smoking and smokeless tobacco with prior approval. Contact Protective Services at protectiveservices@nait.ca  for more details.
