Testing times
NAIT Assessment Services is open Monday to Friday with two testing times of 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.
Services for NAIT students
NAIT Assessment Services personnel specialize in scheduling and invigilating deferral (please email assessmentcentre@nait.ca for form and booking assistance), conflict, distance and other NAIT assessments. Current NAIT students must work with their program area(s) to schedule their assessment(s) in L142.
Placement testing
Placement testing can help you fulfill the Grade 10 English entrance requirement for admission into Academic Upgrading and can also be used to place you into Academic Upgrading courses for which you cannot prove prerequisites.
Placement tests are available for Math, English and Chemistry. A placement test for the NAIT English as a Second Language (ESL) program is also available.
Distance assessments
If you are a NAIT student who lives more than 100 km from NAIT's Main campus in Edmonton, NAIT Assessment Services can help you schedule your course assessments on a date and in a location that works for you.
Please schedule all distance assessments within the first four weeks of your class start date so we have the flexibility to meet your needs.

1. Confirm in-class assessment date and time
You can find the date and time of your scheduled in-class assessment from the MyNAIT portal or by contacting your course instructor.
You may be required to complete your distance assessment on the same date/time as the in-class assessment in Edmonton, or within 72 hours after the in-class assessment has taken place.
3. Arrange an alternative distance invigilation site
If you do not live within 100 km of a location in the NAIT Distance Assessment Invigilation Network, you may arrange an alternative invigilation site by following the instructions on the distance assessment site and invigilator approval form.
Download the distance assessment site and invigilator approval form (pdf)
4. Complete the distance assessment request form
Once you schedule a location and time with your distance invigilator, complete the distance assessment request form and email it to your course instructor for approval.

5. Write your assessment at the distance invigilation site
Once approved, a confirmation letter will be emailed to you, your course instructor and your distance invigilator, which notifies everyone that your booking has been made.
On the scheduled date and time of your assessment, you are expected to arrive on time and follow the instructions provided to you by your distance invigilator. If, due to unforeseen circumstances, you cannot complete your assessment as scheduled, you must contact your instructor to make alternate arrangements.
