Steve Bruns is currently a full-time manager at NAIT working in the Finance and Accounting area since August 2015. Steve’s background is in building materials (manufacturing and wholesale) where he spent 25 working for the private sector in roles such as Accountant, Financial Analyst, Controller, and CFO. He has also been a part-time instructor since 1994, teaching many different courses related to accounting, information technology, statistics, tax and Project Management.
Also, when time permits, Steve works at his small wood-working business where he manufactures industrial parts and makes custom projects (gifts, furniture, etc.) for family and friends. He loves to spend time with the saws, drill-presses and sanders.
His formal education is in accounting where he has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. (He earned both the former CMA and CGA designations).
On a personal note, Steve and his wife have lived in Edmonton since 1986 where they have raised 2 daughters. He loves to play squash competitively, golf, hang out with family at the beach, and work in the wood shop.
