Beyond the Classroom

Student activities

At the JR Shaw School of Business, you'll continuously network with industry professionals and showcase your work.

You will also have the opportunity to apply what you've learned on the job through co-op terms and work-integrated learning. Our industry partners rely on us to produce job-ready graduates who can make an immediate impact when they enter the workforce. Will you be one of them?

Business case competitions

Business PresentationYou can participate in a wide range of business competitions during your studies at NAIT where you'll be able demonstrate your skills. Our student teams have been recognized in various competitions, locally, nationally and internationally.

Competitions allow you to:

  • apply concepts learned in class
  • analyze situations
  • work as a team
  • see the results of decisions and use this knowledge to make future decisions

Industry collaboration projects

Real-life assignments make classes relevant and interesting. For example, in our Marketing diploma program, student teams work with real clients to create promotional campaigns that are judged by a panel of experts, including members of the Advertising Club of Edmonton. Winning teams are honoured at an awards banquet attended by industry professionals.

To help you apply your learning and make your dreams reality, we invite you to drop by the Mawji Centre.
