To achieve this CAEC high school credential, you must write and pass all five subjects (math, reading, writing, science and social studies). These tests can be taken at different times.

Who is the CAEC for?
This credential is for adults who do not have a high school diploma for employment or educational opportunities.
What will the CAEC cover?
The exams are tailored to the needs of adults and will reflect diverse cultures and perspectives.
There are five separate subject areas that need to be passed to achieve an equivalent diploma:
- English Reading – 75 min
- English Writing – 75 min
- Social Studies – 90 min
- Science – 90 min
- Math – 120 min
- Section 1 – 30 min (No Calculator)
- Section 2 – 90 min
How to register for a CAEC test
- Visit the CAEC Site
- Create a CAEC Candidate Account. You are the only one who will know this.
- Select Book a test session. Review form.
- Search and book test. Filter information on left. (NAIT)
On the day of your test
When you arrive for your test, please have valid, government-issued photo ID ready for sign-in. We will walk you through your test details and help set up the computer. Please bring your CAEC login information as no one onsite will be able to provide this to you.
Parking information
Allow yourself ample time to arrive to your assessment booking on time. Students often experience traffic delays en route to NAIT's Main Campus.
