Online Learning Technical Resources
Programs, courses and micro-credentials offered through NAIT Corporate & Continuing Education require access to a computer. You’ll use a computer to review course content and resources and to join virtual lectures.
Your NAIT student account
A NAIT student account is required to register for Continuing Education courses.
To complete checkout, you’ll need to log in or create an account. If you already have an account, sign in using your existing login details. If you’re new, there are multiple sign-up options available including a @nait.ca, Google, Apple, and personal email. When using a personal email address, choose Sign up now to get started.
Your NAIT student account is your main place to manage your learning. It includes:
- Current and past enrollments, transactions, and receipts
- Course details and updates, including dates, times, or locations
- Progress tracking for declared certificate programs
- Self-service access to print statements of grades
Brightspace (D2L)
Brightspace (D2L) is the online learning platform where you access your course content, activities, and resources.
To access the Brightspace portal:
- Go to Brightspace
- Sign in
- Use your NAIT username and password
- Find your courses
- Select Courses in the upper-right corner to view all your enrolled courses
Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams is used to connect with your classmates and instructors for virtual sessions and collaboration. You can access Microsoft Teams through Microsoft 365.
Before your first class, install the Microsoft Teams desktop app on your computer. The desktop app provides access to all features used in your course and helps ensure the best experience during virtual sessions.

Log in to Microsoft Teams with your NAIT username and password.
Before your first virtual session
You’ll receive a Microsoft Teams meeting invite sent to your email account.
Joining a Microsoft Teams session
When you select the meeting link, one of the following will happen:
- You’ll be added to the Microsoft Teams channel for your course, or
- You’ll be prompted to sign in to Microsoft Teams using your NAIT username and password.

If you experience issues accessing a Microsoft Teams session, contact the instructor who set up the session.
Computers and laptops
For the best online learning experience, we recommend that you:
- Use a computer that meets or exceeds the standard hardware and software requirements
- Have a high-speed internet connection (recommended: 25 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload)
- Have a working webcam and microphone
Some courses may require additional or specific technology. Before starting your course, check your course page to confirm any specific requirements.

Online learning tools and technology
Online learning uses a variety of tools and platforms. NAIT Instructors will use common tools whenever possible and will share any course or program specific requirements on or before your first day.
