Course Overview
Upon successful completion of this course you will have the skills needed to manage single resources and establish command using the Incident Command System model. Graduates of this course will be prepared to function as an initial Incident Commander. This course follows standard ICS Canada Curriculum for Basic Incident Command System (ICS I-200). Graduates of this course will be able to describe how the Incident Command System (ICS) is used to manage Single Resources and describes the management required for initial action incidents. This course builds on ICS 100, provides the foundation for higher level ICS training, and provides you advanced knowledge of the features and principles and organizational structure of the Incident Command System. The target audience for this course includes persons who may be first on the scene of an incident and for those assigned to a supervisory position in a larger incident within an ICS organization.
Note: This is an instructor led course not independent study and meets ICS Canada requirements to act as a prerequisite for ICS 300. ICS Canada requires a 6-month period between ICS200 & ICS300.
ICS-100 is a prerequisite for this course. If you completed your ICS-100 certification outside of NAIT, please provide a copy of your approved ICS-100 certificate to continuingeducation@nait.ca.
