Course Overview

With multiple commercial, planning, and research applications, satellite imagery and LiDAR data are extensively used by industry, academia, government, and nongovernmental organizations. Apply various image enhancement, processing, and analysis techniques. Describe the principles and processes of satellite and LiDAR remote sensing and create GIS products from LiDAR point cloud data. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to visualize and analyze satellite imagery and LiDAR data in your Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications.

With the skills gained in this course, you will be able to assess, characterize, and interpret digital satellite imagery and LiDAR data. This course will lay a solid foundation for future advanced study of digital image processing and LiDAR.

Prior to enrolling in this course, it is recommended that you successfully complete at least one GIS course using ArcGIS Pro, or have relevant practical experience.
