New Dean of NAIT's School of Health and Life Sciences focuses on innovation and teamwork

Denise MacIver has been named dean of NAIT's School of Health and Life Sciences

EDMONTON – Denise MacIver has been named dean of NAIT’s School of Health and Life Sciences continuing a 17-year career at the polytechnic where she has served as chair of the Diagnostic Imaging programs, associate dean academic and interim dean.

MacIver is admired by colleagues and staff for her leadership style emphasizing teamwork and inclusiveness, and for her support and coaching of leaders, staff and students. Earlier this year, she was recognized with the Ernest Manning Leadership Medallion at NAIT.

She has championed innovation and continuous improvement within the school, including its move to the new Centre for Applied Technology in 2016 and the opening of its high-tech simulation centre, providing students with state-of-the-art, hands-on learning opportunities.

NAIT’s School of Health and Life Sciences offers 18 diploma and certificate programs in areas from Medical Lab Sciences and Respiratory Therapy to Emergency Management and Paramedicine.
