NAIT welcomes new members to board of governors

NAIT is pleased to announce the appointment of three new members to the NAIT Board of Governors by the Ministry of Advanced Education

Tara Chahl is a NAIT Chemical Technology grad who works as a project manager for Keymay Industries, a pipeline and civil engineering company. She served in the Canadian Forces for nine years, including time in Bosnia and Afghanistan. She is a recipient of the 2017 Young Women in Energy Award and a council member with the Association of Science & Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta. She works to encourage other women and marginalized people to take on senior leadership roles in the Alberta energy sector. Chahl currently trains and competes in endurance running and triathlon events. She is active in the running and CrossFit communities, volunteering as a trainer and coach.

Priti Laderoute is a Chartered Professional Accountant working for EPCOR Utilities, where she chaired the workplace United Way Committee. She also started a company-wide speaker series called Herstory – Women as Leaders. She has worked in tourism/hospitality, oil and gas, the provincial government, and has owned a small business. Laderoute has coached amateur sports at the junior, provincial and university levels, and worked with many international calibre athletes and coaches. She has served on many sport, recreation and multicultural volunteer committees.

David Migadel recently retired as a senior executive in the federal public service after 35 years of service. He has led program delivery and policy development in multiple roles and departments, including with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, Public Works and Government Services Canada, and the Canada Firearms Centre. He has volunteered with the United Way, Health Partners (an organization that connects public and private-sector employees with health charities) and Habitat for Humanity. Migadel is a graduate of NAIT’s Telecommunications Engineering Technology program.

NAIT is also pleased to announce that Valerie Berger has been reappointed for an additional three-year term. Ms. Berger is Vice President, Financial Services at ATCO and chairs the NAIT Board of Governors Finance and Audit Committee.
