About Daryl Silzer
Daryl Silzer joined NAIT as Vice-President, External Relations and Chief Development Officer (CDO) on November 25, 2024. With more than 20 years of leadership in fundraising, donor relations, and strategic partnerships, and a proven track record of cultivating lasting relationships that drive institutional growth, Daryl is committed to helping NAIT advance its strategic plan, The NAIT Effect, through meaningful external engagement.
Prior to joining NAIT, Daryl served as the Director of Faculty Development, College of Health Sciences and Assistant Dean, Advancement with the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta, where he played a pivotal role in raising substantial philanthropic support, creating a culture of philanthropy within the academic and research community. He also held senior roles at the Alberta Cancer Foundation, where his efforts led to significant investments in cancer research, patient care programs, and community engagement initiatives across Alberta.
Throughout his career, Daryl has demonstrated remarkable leadership by exceeding financial revenue targets and successfully securing large multi-million-dollar transformational gifts. His strategic vision, combined with his ability to build trust-based relationships with diverse stakeholders, aligns with NAIT’s vision and values of respect, collaboration, and accountability.
Daryl holds a degree in Physical Activity Studies, Sport Administration from the University of Regina and is widely recognized for his expertise in the post-secondary, provincial and national philanthropic sectors. Outside of his professional commitments, he is an active community volunteer in community programs, activities and events.
