NAIT has designed Job Readiness programs to meet industry's demands for skilled workers.
These programs will provide you with a great way to either change or get a jump-start on your career in the trades. We will help you prepare for entry-level jobs by providing you with practical knowledge and safe work habits as well as prepare you for your apprenticeship.
You will spend the majority of your time in trade-specific shops and labs where you will work with tools and equipment needed by the trade of your interest. You will also receive a small amount of theory in the classroom.
Safety and adherence to occupational health and safety guidelines are a strong focus in any trade; in our labs, you will practice safe work habits that include proper handling of tools and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment.
At the successful completion of each Job Readiness course, you will receive a wallet card certificate that can be shown to future employers. This certificate shows you have attended NAIT and acquired the foundational skills and knowledge necessary for your chosen trade.
Once you begin to work and log hours with Apprenticeship and Industry Training [link], you will be on your way to completing your apprenticeship.
