Ronda Gras is an Associate R&D Scientist of Analytical Sciences, Core R&D of the Dow Chemical Company. Gras joined Dow Chemical after earning her diploma in Chemical Technology in 1991.

Gras has held many critical positions and is a prolific researcher with more than 100 internal publications, more than 50 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals, and is co-author of four patent applications related to the Canadian Oil Sands Enhanced Oil Recovery and other projects.

Gras is an active member of the Analytical Sciences’ Global Gas Chromatography Steering Team that is responsible for world-wide development, implementation, and technology pipeline for gas chromatography. Gras is a co-founder of the Visiting Scholar Program at Dow Canada and is a leader in collaborations with Dow’s strategic technical partners, including NAIT, other universities, and governmental research institutes. 

Gras is the recipient of the 1991 Louise McKinney Scholarship for exceptional academic achievement, the Edison 2017 Best New Product Silver Award, the 2017 Agilent Intuvo 9000 GC Development and SCD 8355 Distinguished External Collaborator Awards.  As a mother of two, Gras actively participates with local community school boards, Edmonton Regional Science Fair, and is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
